CEPAR Annual Workshop 2021

Nov04
CEPAR

CEPAR's annual workshops are a centrepiece of knowledge-sharing and networking for Centre personnel, students and collaborators, with the aim to create links between people across the Centre's five university nodes, assess and report on research progress to date, and draw the milestones and goals for the coming year. It is also an opportunity for students and research fellows to present their research to the extended CEPAR community.

In 2021, the CEPAR Annual Workshop was held over two days on 2-3 November, with over 80 CEPAR members, researchers, students and professional staff participating online, including the Centre's Advisory Board Chair and UNSW Adjunct Professor Marc de Cure.

Research stream personnel presented detailed research progress reports and each session concluded with discussions about future directions and opportunities for intra- and cross-stream collaboration of CEPAR's four research streams Macro-Demographic Dynamics & Population Ageing PolicyDecision Making, Expectations and Cognitive AgeingOrganisations and the Mature Workforce; and Sustainable Wellbeing in Later Life, as well as the Ageing Asia Research Hub which is hosted by CEPAR's UNSW Business School node.

In addition, the two-day workshop featured a session organised by the Centre's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and the Director of Operations on Diversity and Inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Australian research and workplaces which was presented by the invited speaker Yidinji, Yalanji woman Lisa Sarago (Goanna Solutions),

The workshop also included virtual poster presentation sessions, showcasing the work of CEPAR's emerging and mid-career researchers. The Best Poster Presentation Awards at the CEPAR Annual Workshop 2021 were awarded to two PhD candidates:
