Kaarin Anstey appointed to MRFF Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Research Mission Expert Advisory Panel

CEPAR members Kaarin Anstey, Scientia Professor of Psychology at UNSW Sydney, and  CEPAR Advisory Board member Ian Yates AM, Chief Executive of COTA Australia, have been appointed to the Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Research Mission Expert Advisory Panel.

The Expert Advisory Panel is part of the 10-year Dementia, Ageing and Aged Care Mission, funded through the Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), to support older Australians and the ageing population.

Scientia Professor Kaarin Anstey is a CEPAR Deputy Director, NeuRA Senior Principal Research Scientist and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. She leads the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute and an NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Cognitive Health. She is a director of the NHMRC Dementia Centre for Research Collaboration.

Her research interests include risk assessment and risk reduction of cognitive ageing and dementia, late-life development and ageing, mental health in older adults, and older drivers.

Scientia Professor Kaarin Anstey has worked extensively with longitudinal studies, and leads the PATH Through Life Project, a large cohort study focusing on common mental disorders and cognitive function, based in the ACT and surrounding regions.
