The ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) and the School of Risk and Actuarial Studies in the UNSW Business School are hosting the 29th Colloquium on Pensions and Retirement Research online on 1-3 December 2021.
Bringing together academia, government and industry from around the globe, the Colloquium will hear from latest research on financing retirement in the 2020s and beyond.
The program features over 50 high-level talks and presentations, including plenary sessions on financing aged care; the retirement sandbox program; and the macroeconomic environment for superannuation and pensions.
Especially topical is a panel session focused on the Australian Government’s Retirement Income Covenant. The session is chaired by CEPAR Director John Piggott AO, Scientia Professor of Economics in the UNSW Business School.
In addition, the Colloquium features presentations on financing aged care, including a talk on Long-Term Financing Options for Aged Care in Australia: Lessons from the Royal Commission, as well as presentations on the impact of COVID-19 on retirement savings and the early access to pension assets.
Further Colloquium sessions cover the latest research on pensions and climate change; superannuation; pensions, labour supply and household decisions; new retirement products; health and longevity; financial decisions; home equity release; annuities; retirement outcomes; as well as research on pensions and long-term care in Asia.
The 29th Annual Colloquium of Pensions and Retirement Research will also host a special online session on the global experience of financing retirement, sponsored by the International Pension Research Association (IPRA), on December 3, 2021.
With insights being showcased from across the world, this session will be an opportunity to hear global trends in financing retirement in the 2020s and beyond.
