CEPAR PhD candidate Shally Zhou has been awarded the Prize for the Best Presentation from the School of Psychology at the UNSW Science Faculty's Postgraduate Research Showcase.
The Postgraduate Research Showcase is an annual event organised by the UNSW Science Faculty that recognises the outstanding research of postgraduate students and gives them the opportunity to present their work.
With a presentation titled ‘Forever young: Ageing from my perspective’, Shally presented her thesis topic which focuses on understanding the nuances of subjective ageing and its relationship to health and developmental outcomes. With just one minute to give a compelling presentation, she was awarded the Prize for the Best Presentation from the School of Psychology.
“I am excited to be able to share my research and would like to thank my supervisor Kaarin Anstey for her research support,” said Shally Zhou.
Shally Zhou started a PhD at CEPAR, NeuRA and UNSW Sydney in 2021, and is also a research assistant on the Personality and Total Health (PATH) Through Life project.
She completed a Bachelor of Advanced Science (Psychology, Honours Class 1) at UNSW Sydney. Since graduating, Shally has worked on various research projects across different fields within the Anstey Lab, NDARC and the Law and Justice Foundation NSW. These projects included systematic reviews, clinical trials, and observational studies.
Her research interests are in healthy ageing and reducing the risk of age-related diseases such as mild cognitive impairment and dementia.
