Mengyi Xu joined the UNSW Business School node of CEPAR as a Senior Research Associate in September 2017 after completing a PhD in Actuarial Studies at UNSW Sydney. Her PhD thesis studies pre-retirement investment strategies and retirement planning in the presence of housing. Before starting her PhD, she obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in actuarial studies from UNSW Sydney. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries Australia. Her research interests include retirement financial products, pension fund management and longevity modelling. Her current research projects involve designing economic scenario generators and modelling old age mortality.
