Tuesday, 3 July 9.00am – 4.00pm
Colombo Theatres Colombo House, Gate 4, Kensington Campus, UNSW
The 26th Colloquium on Pensions and Retirement Research brings together Australian and international academics, government and industry representatives to discuss the latest research on pensions, superannuation and retirement.
The colloquium theme for this year is Pensions, Retirement and Inequality.
World renowned pension expert Olivia S. Mitchell, Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and CEPAR Partner Investigator, argues that older households must take responsibility for their financial well-being – both during their work lives and in retirement. Yet financial markets are becoming more complex, as the set of instruments available for saving and investment expands.
Keynote speaker Professor Olivia S. Mitchell will explain how financial knowledge can be a powerful driver of wealth inequality in a world of uncertainty and imperfect insurance, since financial knowledge allows people to better allocate their lifetime resources.
Keynote Address: Monday, 2 July, 1.45 – 2.30pm
