Call for Papers: 33rd Colloquium on Pensions and Retirement Research

The 33rd Colloquium on Pensions and Retirement Research will be held at UNSW Sydney on 24-25 November 2025. Co-hosted by the Centre for Population Ageing Research (CEPAR) and the School of Risk & Actuarial Studies at UNSW Business School, the Colloquium brings together academics (from economics, finance, actuarial studies, and related disciplines), government and industry to discuss cutting-edge research on pensions, superannuation, and retirement.

Submissions are specifically invited on the following topics:

  • The retirement phase, including drawdown of retirement savings
  • Financial decision-making support, including advice, nudges and AI/digital tools
  • Retirement investing amid geopolitical and climate risk
  • Pensions and population ageing in Asia

Contributions are also welcome on other pensions and retirement topics, including:

  • Retirement income products and strategies
  • Use of AI/machine learning in retirement planning and pension fund management
  • Financial literacy & education
  • Cognitive decline & financial decision-making
  • Aged care & long-term care financing
  • Home equity release • Longevity & healthy ageing
  • Climate risks in pension & retirement planning
  • Equity & fairness in superannuation/pensions
  • Regulation, taxation, and governance of superannuation/pension funds
  • Public pensions and fiscal sustainability
  • Superannuation/pensions and labour markets

Early career researchers and research students (PhD, Masters, Honours) are especially encouraged to make a submission. A cash prize will be awarded for the ‘Best Student Presentation’.

  3. Full paper or one-page (single-spaced) extended abstract
