Researching Ageing Transitions

Pensioners enjoying retirement

The ARC Centre of Excellence in Population Ageing Research is proud to host the 2011 Emerging Researchers in Ageing Conference. This is the only national conference in Australia focusing exclusively on the work of higher degree research students undertaking research in ageing across a range of disciplines. Now in its tenth year, the conference presents a unique opportunity for higher degree research students to come together to share their research.

Conference prizes

Prizes will be awarded for best presentation and best poster at the conference, as well as the Helen Bartlett Prize for Innovation in Ageing Research.

Pre-conference workshops

Two workshops will be held on the afternoon of Thursday 24 November. The workshops will run from 1.30-5.30pm, with a light lunch provided from 1.00pm. The workshop topics are as follows:

Writing and reviewing for publication

Presented by the Editorial Board of the Australasian Journal on Ageing (please note that submission of a full paper is a pre-requisite for attendance at this workshop, and numbers will be strictly limited).

Funding your research: Applying for grants

Presented by the ERA Steering Committee with support from local experts (this workshop will cover standard ARC and NHMRC options but will also feature expert advice on obtaining funding from philanthropic sources).
