The CEPAR Workshop on the Economics of Health and Ageing was held at the Crowne Plaza, Coogee on Monday 8 February  2016.

The theme was 'Big data and the data deluge', chosen to reflect the opportunities available to those working in health and ageing to access massive data sets but also to reflect the increasing variety of data sources and the dramatically decreasing costs to generate data tailored to particular research.

Speakers included

  • Bianca Bonollo (CEPAR, University of New South Wales)
  • Lisa Cameron (University of Melbourne)
  • Denzil Fiebig (University of New South Wales)
  • Nathan Kettlewell (University of New South Wales)
  • Peter Siminski (University of Wollongong)
  • Marian Vidal-Fernandez (University of Sydney)
  • Yongsay Yong (University of Melbourne)

This was the 13th Summer Workshop organized by the CAER Health Economics Group at UNSW and was made possible because of the  generous support of CAER, CEPAR, the Centre for Research Excellence in Finance and Economics-Primary Health Care (REFinE-PHC) and the UNSW Business School through the Strategy 2020 Network on “Big Data Modelling for Policy Evaluation”.
