ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
Amy Brushwood

Administrative Officer, UNSW

Amy joined CEPAR in July 2011. She has a Bachelor's degree in Music as well as a Diploma in Events Management and Frontline Management as well as extensive research support experience working as an E/A, Administrative Officer and Research Project Coordinator at another university.

In her role as Administrative Officer (AO) Amy has been an integral part of the development of the Centre and provides high level support across a range of functions. These include providing logistical support for conferences, workshops and other events; administering the various support schemes for students and early career researchers; supporting the Centre's committees and managing the UNSW node office.

Colleen Faes-Scott

Colleen Faes-Scott joined CEPAR in 2016. She is a qualified CPA and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She has over 9 years of university experience, previously working across administration and finance at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre.

Colleen supports the CEPAR administrative team and research staff, providing financial advice and managing Centre budgets. She also works closely with the Grants Management Office and the Faculty of Business.

Anne Gordon

Director of Operations, UNSW

Anne has a first class honours degree in English literature. She has over 25 years’ experience in university administration and has previously held senior roles in the UNSW Admissions Office, UNSW Student Administration and the UNSW Business School Research Office. She has been with CEPAR since its inception.

Anne leads the administrative team and works closely with the Centre Director and members of senior Centre management in the development of strategy, new relationships and new funding applications.

Annabella McHugh

Administrative Assistant & E/A to Professor John Piggott, UNSW

Annabella joined CEPAR in 2013.  She has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and previously worked in the private renewable energy sector before coming to CEPAR.

Annabella works closely with the CEPAR admin team to coordinate the Centre's dynamic program of events, delivers support to our researchers and students, and ensures that the UNSW node runs smoothly.

Virginia Small

Communications and Stakeholder Relationships Manager, UNSW

Virginia joined CEPAR in January 2017 and is a skilled media professional, former ABC broadcaster, editor and media trainer. She has a PhD in Communications from Macquarie University, a Master’s degree in Public Relations and is a Visiting Fellow at the UNSW School of Business Canberra.

Virginia is responsible for media liaison. She is integral in developing and implementing internal and external communication strategies and building stakeholder engagement through a wide range of channels and publications. Virginia advises on the delivery of media and communications to support and promote the research and achievements of CEPAR.
